Lois's Obituary

Lois Joyce Angelo (Mulzon) of Kankakee, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2018, in Gilbert, Arizona, with her three loving sons and daughter-in-law by her side. She was 84 years old. Lois was born in Chicago on August 3, 1933, to Anthony and Emily (Glon) Mulzon. After graduation from Wirt High School, in Miller, Indiana, Lois worked for Sears Roebuck & Company before her marriage to Joseph Angelo in 1959. The two of them raised three boys who honored and cherished their parents. They will remember their mother for her kind, caring nature. She was a remarkable homemaker and truly someone they could always count on in good times and the not so good ones. Extended family saw her as one of the most devoted individuals they had ever known—someone who was not average but superior—a determined person in dealing with life that we could all learn from. In addition to gardening and reading, Lois was most at home in her house, which she loved. Lois is survived by her 3 children: Michael (Heidi) Angelo; Anthony (Anne) Angelo; and Joseph (Shelly) Angelo. Also surviving are her grandchildren Emily and J.J. Angelo; and Mackenzie and Joey Angelo; as well as many special nieces and nephews. Her best friend of more than 70 years, Joan Zasadil, will also miss her greatly. Preceding Lois in death are her husband, Joseph; her parents, Anthony and Emily Mulzon; her two brothers, James Mulzon and Warren Mulzon; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, at St. Mary of the Lake Church, 718 W. Buffalo St., New Buffalo, Michigan. Visitation will occur from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM (Michigan time) at Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI, with the funeral Mass following at the church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, also in New Buffalo. She will rest beside her husband, and near her mother, father, and brother, Warren. The family would like to thank Lund Family Hospice Home for their kindness, love, and support. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lund House, 1982 E Woodside Ct., Gilbert, Arizona 85297.
