He was born in Hart, Michigan, on the 1st of August, 1931, to Frank and Gertrude Fox, formerly of Three Oaks, MI, and was the second youngest of eight children. After leaving high school, Jack enlisted into the Army during the Korean War, and served in South Korea as a mess cook in 1951. After he returned, he met his wife, Janice (Tessman), and married in 1960. Jack and Janice lived all their married life in Three Oaks. Jack worked at Bendix Hydraulics and Bosch Automotive Group in St. Joseph, and retired from Bosch in 1996.
Jack liked to spend his leisure time with his wife, family and friends. He loved activities like softball, camping, hunting, dancing, and playing cards. He also umpired and coached several local little league baseball teams. Jack was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and University of Notre Dame. He was a member of The American Legion Post 204 in Three Oaks, where he enjoyed spending time chatting and reminiscing with friends. He traveled within the United States visiting his sons while they were serving in the Armed Forces and living in Georgia, Washington D.C., and Texas. His main love was fishing on Lake Michigan. He spent many early morning hours on Lake Michigan fishing with friends and family. When he was actively fishing, the highlight of his year would be when he and his friends would travel to Ohio or Georgia for a week long trip.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Dale, of Three Oaks, MI; Robert, of Mishawaka, IN; Maxine, of Mishawaka, IN; and Norma Jean, of Three Oaks, MI. His wife Janice, and son, David, both of Three Oaks, MI, died in 2015.

Jack was a much-loved character by all of his friends and family. As such, his family would like to invite anyone who would like to celebrate Jack’s life to the American Legion Post 204, in Three Oaks, on Wednesday, 19 Sep, between 3-6 p.m.
