Ernestine Mary Rose

Ernestine Mary Rose, age 97, of Buchanan died, Wednesday, March 19, 2009 at the Buchanan Meadows in Buchanan, Michigan. Ernestine was born on September 11, 1911 in Cleveland, OH to the late Jacob Schaefer & Kathryn (Schiedel) Schaefer. On July 23, 1931 she married John Russell who preceded her in death on November 18, 1963. On May 15, 1965 she married Emery C. Rose who preceded her in death on September 12, 1974. Survivors include one daughter Pat (Lloyd) Burns of Galien, MI; three sons, James (Phyllis) Russell of Jones, MI, Walter Russell of Elkhart, IN, and William (Jeannie) Russell of Union, MI; twelve grandchildren and several great grand and great great grandchildren. After living in Florida for many years, Ernestine returned to Michigan seventeen years ago. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and working on cross word puzzles. A graveside service will be held Saturday March 21 at 11:00 a.m. in Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, MI. Pastor Dan Miller of First Missionary Baptist Church Niles will officiate.
