Nancy Eileen Vite

Nancy Eileen Vite, 72, of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010 at her home. Nancy Eileen was born on June 3, 1938 in Buchanan, the 10th child to Wyman and Marjorie (Phillips) Batchelor. On November 9, 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert Vite, in Roseland, Indiana. Nancy worked side by side from 1968 to 2005 with her husband, Robert, on their farm growing produce which they sell at the Farmer’s Market in South Bend, Indiana. Nancy Eileen was a member of Portage Prairie United Methodist Church, Niles, Michigan and also a member of the Kalamzoo Area Emmaus Community. Her family was the greatest joy of her life. Surviving Nancy Eileen are: her husband, Robert; two sons, Jonathon Vite of South Bend, Indiana and Rodney (Renee) vite of Orlando, FL; five sisters, Betty Lou Ashton of Niles, MI, Mary (Robert) Heiney, Charlotte (William) Burkett, Margaret (Eugene) Aalfs and Kay (Stanley) Swank, all of Buchanan; two brothers, Dennis (Genevieve) Batchelor of Fountain, MI and James Batchelor of Niles, MI; and grandchildren, Rodney, Tayler, Kirsten and Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Joyce Polega and her brother, George Batchelor. Nancy Eileen touched and blessed the lives of many people by her generosity and love. Arrangements are entrusted to Swem Chapel, Buchanan, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Portage Prairie United Methodist Church, Niles, MI. Memorial service will be Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11 am at First United Methodist Church, 132 South Oak Street, Buchanan, MI 49107.
