Richard A. Poorman, 65, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Buchanan, MI died September 14, 2009 in Ocala. He was born April 8, 1944 in the Benton Harbor area. Surviving are daughters, Pamela Ann Poorman of Valdosta, GA and Sue Ann Hurst of Jacksonville, FL; son, Richard Poorman II of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Bonnie (Alfred) Eaton of Niles and Mary Ann “Teddi” Kilburn of Eau Claire, MI; brothers, Paul (Susan) Poorman of Buchanan and Edward (Diann) Rotzien of Niles; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Adah (Lear) Poorman. Dick attended Buchanan High School. He went on to serve in the US Navy. He was a truck driver and specialized in large and oversize loads. He was a protective and loving father and was always able to answer the call when they needed him. A private family graveside service was held at Oak Ridge Cemetery. A memorial service was held at Marantha Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL with Military Honors following.
