Betty June Stokes

Mrs. Betty June (Paddock, Brooks) Stokes, 81, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at 6:15 a.m., at Lakeland Hospital, Niles. She was born to the late Willard and Lilly Rose (West) Paddock on June 16, 1928 in Buchanan, MI. On April 1, 1969 she married Harvel L. Stokes, who preceded her in death on February 8, 2010.Surviving is a daughter, Rosemary (Jimmie) Jackson of Niles, MI; sons, Delbert (Deborah) Brooks of Plymouth, IN, Harry (Sandi) Brooks of East Jordan, MI, and Fred Brooks of Plymouth, IN; sister, Thelma Antus of Edwardsburg; brother, Clarance “Buck” Paddock of Jackson, MI, eighteen grandchildren; forty three great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four grandchildren.Betty was a bus driver for the Niles School District as well as a waitress and a homemaker. She was a great mother and will be missed by all who knew her. The funeral service will be Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11 am, with visitation two hours prior from 9am-11am at the Swem Chapel, Buchanan. Pastor Sean Kidd of the Buchanan Christian Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
