Joan Lorraine Mills

Joan Lorraine Mills age 82 of Ft.Wayne, Indiana formerly of Buchanan, died Thursday June 9th at Bethlehem Woods Rehab Center Ft.Wayne. She was born October 7, 1928 in St. Joseph, Michigan to the late Harold M. and Genevieve A. Bay DeWitt. On September 6, 1947 in Buchanan she married Charles (Bud) Mills who preceded her in death Sept.13, 1996.She is survived by two daughters Lorraine (Dennis) Ryan of Niles, Michigan .Becky (Pat) McNeil of Ft. Wayne. A sister Jill Sobieralski of Niles, Mi. Brother Jack (Shirley) DeWitt of Buchanan, Five Grandchildren and 4 Great Grand children also survive. A brother Duane DeWitt and a sister Wathena (Wally) Dodge preceded her in death. Joan worked in the accounting department as a payroll clerk at Clark Equipment Company in Buchanan. She was a member of Women Of The Moose, loved bowling , golf and volunteered in the Buchanan Community Schools. Visitation will be Thursday June 16th from 5-8 p.m. at Swem Chapel where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday with Pastor Bud Holmes of the Buchanan Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery Buchanan.
