David A. Reitz

David A. Reitz, age 76, of Buchanan, Michigan died Monday April 30th in his home after a long battle with cancer. David was born September 11, 1935, in Baroda, Michigan to the late Jacob and Mary Reese Reitz. On October 14, 1961 in Galien, Michigan he married Judith A. Roundy who preceded him in death on March 5, 2007.He is survived by a daughter; Andrea (Pete) Klein – St .Johns, Michigan; four sons, Todd (Kim) Reitz – Edwardsburg, Kent (Cindy) Reitz- Buchanan, Jarred (Sheila) Reitz- Stevensville, Brad (Tonya) Reitz- Buchanan; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters; Ruth (Kevin) Olmstead- Galien, JoAnne (Don) Warren – St. Joseph, Marilee (Al) Trump – Trenton, Mo and Loretta Jeschke- Austin, Texas.David was the owner and operator of Pinlock Engineering from 1975- 1995. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. While serving in the Navy he sailed around the world visiting thirty six different ports. He was a member of Post # 51 American Legion of Buchanan. As well being a former member of the Buchanan Jaycee’s his hobbies included wood working and being an active member the American Legion Honors’ Guard.Visitation will be Thursday May 3rd from 4-8 p.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan A celebration of his life service will be on Friday May fourth at 11:00 a.m Elder Allen Ender officiating, also at Swem Chapel. Military Honors’ will be given by Post # 51 American Legion following his service also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Galien Township Cemetery at a later date.
