Buchanan – Charlotte “Candy” Candace O'Brien, 56, of Buchanan died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 8:57 p.m. at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, MI of natural causes. She was born October 25, 1953 to the late Charles and Bessie (Luster) Adams. On September 23, 1977, in Dowagiac, MI, she married John O'Brien, who survives. Also surviving are children, Matt (Mindy) O'Brien of St. Joseph, MI, Christina (Ryan) Gerkey of Lafayette, IN, Andrea (Michael) Kincaid of Watervliet, MI and Samantha (Michael) Clark of Bellevue, IA; sister, Rodonna (Ray) Amiel of Monroe, WI; brother, Reginald Adams of Paisley, FL; and five grandchildren and with on the way.Candy worked as a Registered Nurse for Lakeland Continuing Care Center in St. Joseph, MI. She loved life, cool days and shade, a trip to Mackinaw just for a pizza, and all animals – especially their beloved dog Mable. She cherished family, her husband, her children, and cared for strangers as if they were so. She gave everything and asked for nothing. To her family she was Candy, daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, and friend and will forever be an Angel. The Celebration of life service will be Monday, September 20, 2010 at 11 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Buchanan. Fr. Joe Gray of St. Anthony Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow at South Wayne Cemetery in Dowagiac. Visitation will be Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Swem Chapel, Buchanan with a rosary service at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be mad to the Copper Country Humane Society, P.O.
