Jeanne M. Carlson

Jeanne Carlson, 80, of Niles, MI and formerly of Buchanan, MI and Fayette,MO, died on February 7, 2011 in Niles, MI after a short illness. She wasborn to the late Morley Myers and Velma (Metzger) Rebosio on June 12, 1930in Buchanan. A sister, Delores (DeeDee) Miller preceded her in death. Jeanne enjoyed being a homemaker for the majority of her life in theBuchanan area. For several years she also worked at Coleman’s Floral Shopon Sylvan St. in Buchanan. Her many hobbies and life interests includedcrocheting, playing bridge and many card games, and doing crafts of allkinds. She was a member of Eastern Star and Loyal Order of Women of theMoose. On August 15, 1948 Jeanne was married to Jerrold L. Carlson (“Jerry”) at theFirst Presbyterian Church in Buchanan, cherishing 61 years of marriage toJerry, who preceded her in death in 2009. They were very fortunate to enjoya lifetime of wonderful experiences, living in Havana, IL, St. Petersburg,FL while living on their sailboat “The Jeannie”, then Theodosia, MO and mostrecently, Fayette, MO, after which Jeanne moved back to her hometown areaand settled in Niles, MI.Surviving are Jeanne’s four children, Cherilyn (Mark) Rzepka of South Bend,IN, Scott (Debi) Carlson of Buchanan, LuAnn (Ron) Wisniewski of South Bend,IN, and Rene (Linda) Carlson of Ellabell, GA, a brother Jerry Lee Myers ofCalifornia; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-greatgrandchild.A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11:00 am atSwem Funeral Home.
