Ryan Michael Gowen, 28, Buchanan, Michigan passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN following a short illness. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 132 S. Oak St., Buchanan, MI with Pastor Rob McPherson officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 19th from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Swem Chapel. Those wishing to leave a condolence message online may do so going to www.swemfuneralhome.com. Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Holy Cross Men's Golf Team Fund which will be established in Memory of Ryan M. Gowen.Ryan was born on March 18, 1982 in Niles, Michigan to Tim and Christine (Swank) Gowen of Buchanan who survive. He was a graduate of Buchanan High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Ferris State University. Ryan worked at the University of Notre Dame Warren Golf Course as Assistant PGA Golf Professional, he also was the golf coach at Holy Cross College.Surviving is a brother; Nicholas (Stephanie) Gowen of Niles; one nephew and niece Blayne and Kayla Gowen also of Niles; grandparents Stan & Kay Swank of Buchanan; Shirley Gowen of Buchanan and Richard and Wanita Gowen of Niles.
