John Paul Kane

John Paul Kane, 66, of Bertrand Township, died at the University of Chicago Hospital on Sunday March 6, 2011. Arrangements have been entrusted with Swem Chapel of Buchanan, MI.John was born on March 23, 1944 in Buchanan, MI to Paul and Ina (Good) Kane. He was a graduate of Buchanan High School in 1962. John served his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the Army as a Pvt E1. He married Sharon Marie Feifar on October 10, 1970 in Buchanan, MI. John worked at Clark Equipment from 1962-1983, and then at Tyler Refrigeration from 1987-2009. He also farmed the family farm of strawberries and vegetables. John was also an avid hunter. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.John is survived by his loving wife Sharon; his daughters Tami (David) Cox and Tina (Sam) Moore both of Buchanan; his grandchildren Kwaid, Isaiah, Kayleen and Sammy; and sisters Jean (Henry) Janda of Columbia City, IN and Patty (Joseph) Schwartz of Niles, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ina Kane, three sisters Joan, Janet and June.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 14, 1:00 PM, at the Swem Chapel in Buchanan, with Pastor Collin Seitz officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan. Visitation is on Sunday, March 13, from 2:00-5:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
