Birdie Lou Pinkerton

Birdie Lou Pinkerton, age 82, of Bertrand Twp., Michigan died Sunday at 5:43 a.m. in her home after a long illness. She was born February 25th 1929 in Lancaster, Wisconsin to Mathias and Leta Burkholder Shiffman, who preceded her in death. On May 27th 1950 in Buchanan, Michigan she married Jack E. Pinkerton, who preceded her in death on August 26, 1993. Survivors are two daughters Nedra (Kirk) Ott of Buchanan, Sherry Pierce of Buchanan; a son Jack E. (Charmaine) Pinkerton, II. of Niles; a sister Marie (John) Pease of Niles; and a brother Carl (Rose Marie) Shiffman of Lamadra, California. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.Birdie was a member of the Women of the Moose and American Legion Auxiliary of Buchanan. She enjoyed painting and cooking.Services will be Friday, July 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Rob McPherson of First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice at Home Inc. 2626 W.
