Helen A. Hert

Helen A. Hert, age 97, died Wednesday, April 17th at 2:55 a.m. at River Ridge Manor in Niles, Michigan. Helen was born February 1, 1916, in Knox County, Indiana, to the late Harry and Stella (Evans) Huffman. A son, Donald Hert, and daughter Anna Mohrhardt, preceded her in death along with her husband, Delmar, in 1989. She was also preceded by two brothers George and Paul Huffman Helen is survived by a daughter, Jeri (Ralph) Widmer of Three Forks, Montana; two son’s, James (Amy) Hert of Grand Ledge, MI, and David Hert of Potterville, MI; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Dorothy Fletcher of Cicero, Indiana.Helen and her late husband Delmar moved from Dimondale in 1986 to Buchanan, Michigan where she resided until moving to Niles. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Buchanan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:30 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 115 W. Front St., Buchanan, Michigan 49107 with Pastor Pat Ramsden officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to the church in her memory.
