Martha Young Ferris

Martha Young Ferris, 91, of Buchanan, passed away on Saturday, March 10, at her home. Arrangements have been entrusted with Swem Chapel of Buchanan.Martha was born January 9, 1921, in Buchanan, to the late Arthur and Nina (Perkins) Young. She worked at Clark Equipment Company and Electro Voice of Buchanan prior to becoming a mother and homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Buchanan.On November 9, 1947, in Niles, Martha married Robert Ferris, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael (Jan) Ferris, and a daughter, Rosalie Ferris, both of Buchanan; and a sister, Esther Crawford of Buchanan. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Ted, Lyle and Roger Young.A Celebration of Life Service will be on Tuesday, March 13, 11:00AM, at Swem Chapel, with Rev. Patricia Ramsden officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Visitation is on Monday, March 12, from 4:00-8:00PM at Swem Chapel in Buchanan.
