Oscar's Obituary

Oscar Hall Jr. age 89 of Niles, died November 2nd at River Ridge Manor Niles. He was born November 5, 1921 in Sullivan County Indiana to the late Oscar and Ruth Nash Hall who preceded him in death. He married Eva Mae Daggett on September 25, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, who preceded him in death on Feb. 2nd, 1997. Oscar is survived by a son Charles (Norma) Hall of Niles; two grandchildren, Thomas (Heather) Hall of Niles and Timothy (Tammy) Hall of St. Joseph; and Great Grandchildren, Josiah, Sofia and Benjamin Hall.Oscar was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Metzger, a brother, Howard Hall and a nephew and niece. Oscar was a veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp during WW2, who flew the C-47 Aircraft. He was a member of American Legion Post # 51 Buchanan and Wesley United Methodist Church of Niles. Prior to his retirement he worked for Herb Swartz Machine Company and Kennedy Motors.Visitation will be held Sunday Nov. 6th from 4-6 p.m. at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m., also at Swem Chapel. Pastor Edward Slate of Wesley United Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 51 of Buchanan. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 302 Cedar St., Niles, Michigan 49120.
