Delos Dunbar

Delos “Spike” Dunbar, 92, of Buchanan, Michigan passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at home after a long illness. He was born January 1, 1920 in Buchanan to the late Frank and Fay (Thursby) Dunbar, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 26, 1949 in Buchanan he married Genevieve March who survives along with two daughters, Carole Dunbar- Chicago, IL, and Connie (Tom) Wetzel- Oak Park, IL, two sons, Ronald (Amy) Dunbar, Kentwood, MI and Michael Dunbar of Niles, MI, three grandchildren, Anne Dunbar, Kathryn Dunbar and Timothy Wetzel. Delos had been employed by Fruehauf Company in South Bend as a parts manager and retired after working for them for thirty years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 68 F&AM of Buchanan. He raised quarter horses and loved animals, as well as his wife Genevieve, children and grandchildren.Services will be Thursday the 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Swem Chapel with Rev. Leonard Bailey officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday 5-8 p.m., also at Swem Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.
