Emiel A. Zelmer

Emiel A. Zelmer, 88, of Buchanan died Tuesday February 28th at his home of natural causes. He was born January 4, 1924 in Bridgman, Michigan to the late Herman and Eda (Priebe) Zelmer. On November 30, 1946, Emiel married Marie Schmaltz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glendora. She survives along with two sons, Dick (Brenda) Zelmer of Walterboro, South Carolina and Donald (Kay) Zelmer of Niles, Michigan; grandchildren Marlene (Brian), Bryon, David (Amy), Angie (Corey), Aaron and Daron (Lori); great-grandchildren Kyle, Morgan, Levi, Jena, Brandon, Lorraine, Joshua, Bryce, Parker and Gabe; a brother Norman (Rita) Zelmer of Bridgman, Michigan. Emiel is preceded by two brothers and three sisters.Emiel retired from Michigan Wisconsin Pipe Line and had farmed most of his life. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Glendora where services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, March 5th at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Thomas Brazinsky officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan. Visitation will be Sunday March 4th from 4 until 8 p.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan.
