Marilyn's Obituary
Marilyn R. Schinske, age 75, of Niles, died Saturday, October 27, 2012, at home, after a long illness. She was born March 14, 1937 in Berrien Center, Michigan to the late Ivan and Camilla (Harr) Smith. On August 25, 1956 she married Marvin Shinske, who survives, along with three daughters; Tammy (Mark) Deering of Indianapolis, Indiana; Diana Fortin of Wichita Falls, Texas; Susan (John) Workman of Roy, Utah; a son, Matt (Stacey) Schinske of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; also, brothers Don Smith of Syracuse, Indiana; and Darrell Smith of Berrien Center, Michigan. A brother, Lowell Smith, preceded her in death. Marilyn loved her family and she loved music. She played the piano at First Missionary Baptist Church and at many senior centers in the area; where Marilyn and Marvin would perform together, putting smiles on the faces of many that were hurting. Marilyn always had time for her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Marilyn shared her love freely. Visitation will be Monday October 29th from 4-8 p.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan.A Celebration of her life will be Tuesday October 30th at 11:00 a.m. also at Swem Chapel.Burial will follow at Portage Prairie Cemetery.Memorial Contributions may be made to First Missionary Baptist Church Benevolent Fund 925 Chippewa St. Buchanan, Michigan 49107 To sign her guest book or leave a condolence message please visit our web site www.swemchapel.com
