David's Obituary

David Ross Rifenberg, 56, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at his home in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born on July 1, 1956 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He leaves behind a daughter Caitlin Rifenberg of Niles. Also surviving are his mother, Charlotte (Dodie) Rifenberg of Buchanan, sister Martha (Max) Irwin of Ball Ground, GA. Preceding him in death was his father, Owen, in 2006 and sister Charlotte Fisher in 2011. Also surviving is his former wife and friend, JoAnne Pitcher of Sisters Lake, Mi. David was a 1974 graduate of Buchanan High School and served in the Navy for four years. He graduated from Grand Valley State University with a history major. He loved to play his guitar and sing. He was a docent for Hackley House in Muskegon- a job he loved and did well. He was active in several charitable organizations in Michigan.Visitation will be Thursday, October 4 from 4-8 p.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan where a Celebration of his life service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church 115 W.
