Mildred L. Bachman

Mildred L. Bachman, age 87, of Niles, died Wednesday, June 12th, at West Woods of Niles. Mildred was born September 2, 1925 in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Arthur & Maude (Smith) Rose. She married Norman Bachman on January 22, 1949 in Buchanan; he preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1998. Two brothers, Robert & Harold Rose, also preceded her in death along with a sister, Helen Hoffstetter.Survivors include a daughter, Judy (William) Heckathorn of Buchanan, son Mark (Heather) Bachman of Niles, four grandchildren; Jeremy Bachman, Zachary (Ashley) Bachman, Grace Bachman, Sophie Bachman and one great-grandchild, Bryce Bachman.Mildred was a lifetime resident of Buchanan and retired from Inter City Bank where she worked as a teller for many years. She enjoyed bowling and crocheting.Visitation will be Friday, June 14th, 6-8 p.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan where services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice At Home, 1234 Napier Ave., St. Joseph, Michigan 49085.
