Sammy was a member of Buchanan American Legion Post # 51 and had a served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.Sammy found after many years of self-condemnation and guilt for a past held with many regrets; that he needed love and acceptance from someone outside. He looked for a greater being and began searching for his creator, and began to believe in God. His heart was attracted to the story of someone loving him enough to die for him. He began to think about this, and the one named Jesus, and his warmth stole over him. It was never a religion to him, just a pure understanding that first and foremost, he needed to be honest with God. That honesty and openness led him to embrace and accept our Heavenly Father. He took him and loved him; and for this he is eternally alive in his new home called heaven, and is having the most wonderful time of his new life.
