Herman's Obituary

Herman F. Klug, 82, of Buchanan died Sunday July 7th, after a long illness. He was born March 31, 1931, in New Troy, Michigan to the late Harry & Tillie (Hebner) Klug. On November 6, 1954, in Glendora he married Thelma Payne who survives; along with two daughters, Theresa Bowker of Buchanan and Linda Sharrer of Niles; two sons, Bruce (Kim) Klug and Scott Klug both of Buchanan; a sister, Edna Mitchell of Fountain, Michigan; and a brother, Emil Klug of Stevensville. A sister, Betty Renbarger, and a grandchild preceded him in death. Other survivors are seven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren, as well as one great-great grandchild. Herman was a millwright who retired from Industrial Rubber in St. Joseph, Michigan. He served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War and enjoyed woodworking and out of doors activities. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 9th, 5-8 p.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan. A service celebrating his life will be Wednesday, July 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glendora. .Burial will follow at Glendora Cemetery where graveside military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post # 51 of Buchanan.
