Jennie L. Shaw

Jennie L. Shaw, age 97, of Bertrand Twp., Michigan died Friday May 2, 2014 at Woodland Terrace Niles, Michigan. She was born August 10, 1916 in Bertrand Twp to the late Lewis and Helen (Dreger) Smith who preceded her in death. On June 29, 1940 in Bertrand Twp. Jennie married William Shaw who preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1970. Survivors include a son Robert Shaw of Mason, Michigan and 3 grandchildren:  Luther, Jake and Mathew Weinberg. A lifetime resident of Bertrand Twp. she retired from PortagePrairieUnitedMethodistChurch where she held the position of secretary for many years and delivered meals on wheels and also was the recording secretary for the Buck teens. Service will be held on Tuesday May 6th at 10:30 A.M. at Portage Prairie United Methodist Church, 2450 Orange Rd., Niles. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday May 5th 4-8 P.M. also at Swem Chapel in Buchanan. Memorial contributions may be made to Portage Prairie United Methodist Church 2450 Orange Rd.
