James's Obituary
– James Orville Harrington, 60, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 23, 2013 of natural causes. He was born May 13, 1953 in Niles, MI to the late Orville and Bernice (Schroder) Harrington. On November 1, 1997, he married Rhonda Hardin, who survives.
Surviving is his loving wife, Rhonda Harrington; his children, Joseph (Richele) Harrington and Jennifer (Keith) Singleton; siblings, Donald (Carol) Harrington, Sharon (Scott) Boehm, Sandy (Gene) Baker Jr., and John (Paula) Harrington all of Buchanan; brother-in-law, Kent (Juli) Hardin of St. Joseph, MI; sister-in-law, Gingy (Marlin) Copeman of Longmont, CO; father-in-law, Clem (Bobbie) Hardin of Benton Harbor, MI; mother-in-law, Jan (David) Whelchel of Locust Grove, GA; grandchildren, Zachary, Joyee, Marloree, Adeen and Carteer Harrington and Khloe and Kaleb Singleton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dolly (Clark) Anderson. He will be greatly missed by his large extended family and close friends.
Jim graduated from Buchanan High School in 1971 and worked at Clark Laboratory Services until the time of his retirement in 1998 after 25 years. For many years, he was a Reserve Officer for the Buchanan City Police Department as well as the Michigan DNR. Following retirement he started his own handyman business, Harrington Home Services. His pride and joy were his grandchildren.
Services celebrating his life will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10:30am at Swem Chapel, in Buchanan. Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2013 from 4-8pm also at Swem Chapel. Reverend Bernice Patterson will officiate. Cremation will follow.
