Norma Irene Bentley

Norma Irene Bentley, age 84, of Niles, Michigan, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at her home.  She was born February 24, 1930 in Bradford, Arkansas to the late William H. and Irene (Hayes) Fisher who preceded her in death.  On January 6, 1962 in South Bend, Indiana, she married William Bentley who preceded her in death on May 2, 2008. Norma is survived by her sons: Michael (Elaine) Bentley of Lakeville, IN, Craig (Holly) Bentley of South Bend, IN, Bill Crutchfield of South Bend; daughter, Kathryn Crutchfield (Herbert) Hoover of  Niles; step-son, Bill (Nancy) Bentley, Jr. of Vermont; step-daughter, Beth (Edward) Bentley of Corning, NY; sister, Ann (Mike) Ciesiolka of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  One son, Donald Crutchfield; one step-daughter, Brenda Bentley; and her brother, William E. Fisher preceded her in death. Norma worked in the purchasing department at Buchanan Steel Products for 13 years and was an active member of the Portage Prairie United Methodist Church. A celebration of her life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at PortagePrairieUnitedMethodistChurch with Pastor Rap Posnik officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, IN, following the service.  A visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Swem Chapel in Buchanan.  Memorial contributions may be made to Portage Prairie United Methodist Church, 2450 Orange Rd., Niles, MI.
