Clayton Flanagan

Clayton (Gene) Flanagan, age 78, of Buchanan died Monday at West Woods of Niles.  He was born March 26, 1936 in Buchanan to the late Clayton & Alice Littrell Flanagan. Survivors include his wife Caroline (Sands) Flanagan, who he married August 13, 1961 in Cassopolis, Michigan; two daughters Christina Olinghouse and Connie (Steve) Mullen, both of Buchanan; two sons Clayton (Sandra) Flanagan of Niles and Charles Flanagan of South Bend; one sister Phyllis (Walter) Seratt of Dowagiac, Michigan; six grandchildren Brianne, Joshua and Olivia Flanagan, Jenna and Justin Mullen and Mehkenna Olinghouse. Clayton worked as a machinist for twenty-one years at the former Clark Equipment Co. He served in the Navy following the Korean War. His hobbies were bird watching, spending time in the out-of-doors and mowing the lawn. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m.  Thursday, May 15th at Swem Chapel in Buchanan where a service celebrating his life will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Dave Mitchell from Faith Victory Fellowship will officiate. Military Honors will be given by Post 51 American Legion at Oak RidgeCemetery in Buchanan. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
