Edna's Obituary

Edna Estelle Shrider, 86, of Buchanan, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at West Woods in Niles, MI. A Celebration of Edna’s Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on, Saturday, March 14, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 132 South Oak St., Buchanan, MI 49107 with Rev. Rob McPherson officiating.  Friends may visit with the family before the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 14 at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Edna was born December 1, 1928 to Jesse Lauver and Edna Vera “Dimple” Redden.  On June 25, 1948, Edna married Jack Eugene Shrider in Buchanan. Edna was employed by Rifenberg Insurance Agency for 37 years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Buchanan, committee member for Miss Buchanan, Inc., member of the Conservation Club, member of Beta Sigma Phi and Buchanan Jaycees, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and taught archery at Laughing Place Stables. She loved playing piano, golfing, bowling, sewing and spending time with her family. Edna is survived by her daughters; Sandra (Ronald) Teichmer of Whitehall, MI, Sally (Paul) McAlpine of Lowell, MI, Suzanne (Bruce) Hipshear of Buchanan, MI and Sheri (Dana) Krug of Naperville, IL; 9 Grandchildren; and 6 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, parents and two brothers; George and Herb Lauver.
