Patricia D. Lyon

Patricia D. Lyon of Niles went home peacefully Saturday, March 28, 2015 at BorgessHospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born January 9, 1941 in Buffalo, New York, to Owen and Doris (Fitzpatrick) Brown.  She married Lee Lyon on November 29, 1969 in Buchanan, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Shirley Walters, and her grandson, Connor Lyon. Pat will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Lee Lyon of Niles; a daughter, Melissa Lyon of Buchanan; a son, Scott (Mandy) Lyon of Hudsonville; two grandchildren, Emmaleigh Lyon and Keegan Lyon of Hudsonville; and two nieces, Jennifer (Jeff) Hedges of North Muskegon and Lisa (Erik) Johnson of East Grand Rapids. Pat was very active in the Presbyterian Church and loved volunteering there. She served for many years as the editor of the church newsletter and as a Deacon of the church.  She led Bible studies both in her home and at the church.  She was active in the Red Hat Society and DeColores Ministries.  Pat was gifted as an interior designer. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and helping her family and others. Memorial services will be Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Niles with visitation an hour prior to the service.  Memorial contributions can be given to the Foundation of the First Presbyterian Church of Niles.
