Mary's Obituary

Mary Lee Leazenby, age 80, of Buchanan, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Lakeland Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Michigan. She was born July 7, 1935 in Glendora, Michigan to the late Peter and Pauline (Walters) Freehling. On July 25, 1953 in Glendora she married Walter Leazenby who preceded her in death on July 24th 1976. Infant twins also preceded Mary and Walter in death. Mary is survived by a daughter, Donna (David) Linn of Caracas, Venezuela; three sons, Mark (Theresa) Leazenby, Brian (Debra) Leazenby, and Allen (Debbie) Leazenby all of Buchanan; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eleanor (Burl) Longfellow of Baroda, Michigan, and Pauline Longfellow of Galien, Michigan.  A sister, Arlene Burket, and five Brothers, Harold, Raymond, Donald, Robert and Glenn Freehling also preceded her in death. Mary enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s athletic events, baking cookies for various seasonal events, and attending Buchanan Christian Church where she was a member. Mary had been employed as an office clerk at Electro Voice in Buchanan for ten years. A service celebrating her life will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan, with Pastor Nathan Babcock officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan. A visitation will be on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Swem Chapel.
