Bernice E. Marsh

Bernice E. Marsh, 95, passed away on January 13, 2016, at the home of her daughter where she had been living for the past 5 years. She was born on March 11, 1920, to Richard and Estella Strauss in Buchanan.  On January 27, 1940, she married Gaylord “Bud” Marsh in Three Oaks, MI.  They made their home in Galien, MI.  Her life’s work was being a wife, mother, and homemaker.  She devoted her life to her family.  She was a member of Community of Christ Church in Galien, MI. She is survived by 3 daughters, Janet (Bob) Franklin and Nancy Foster of Buchanan, and Jean (Gary) Frank of Granger, IN; 6 grandchildren, Brian (Susan) Foster of Chantilly, VA, Trent (Amber) Babcock of Niles, MI, Stacie (Matt) Green of Kissimmee, FL, Diana (Eduardo) Guzman of Troy, MI, Kirk Babcock (fiancée Andrea Green) of Roanoke, VA and Suzanne Franklin of San Diego, CA; she also was the very proud great-grandmother of Emilia and Rafael Guzman, Faith, Lexi and Lauren Foster, Mason, Tyler and Chase Green, Julia and Lincoln Babcock, and Jenna and Ava Babcock. She was preceded in death by her husband with whom she celebrated 46 years of marriage prior to his death in 1986, an infant son, Ronald and a son-in-law, William (Bill) Parrish. Visitation will be held at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan, on Friday, January 15, 2016, from 5 to 8 pm.  Friends may also visit on Saturday at 10 am at the funeral home where a Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 11 am, with burial at the Galien Cemetery.
