Nancy's Obituary

Nancy L. (Keres) Neitch, 78, passed away on April 13, 2016, at the Center for Hospice Care in South Bend, IN. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 11:00 AM April 20, 2016, at St Anthony Catholic Church, 409 W. 4th St., Buchanan, with Father Richard Altine officiating. Visitation will be held at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan, on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A private burial will be held at Highland Cemetery in South Bend at a later date. Memorial donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.  Those wishing to sign her guestbook may do so online at www.swemchapel.com. Nancy was born on April 2, 1938, to Otto and Mary E. (Mooney) Keres in South Bend IN. On November 28, 1957, she married Alexander M. Neitch at Our Lady of Hungary Church in South Bend, IN.  Nancy took pride in her chosen work as a homemaker cherishing the opportunity to care for her family. She was a very active member of the South Bend Cruise Club and Red Hat Society for over twenty years. Nancy was eager to help others and demonstrated that by leading a widow’s group in South Bend after the passing of her husband. Nancy enjoyed the water and camping with her family, and she loved cheering on her favorite team the Chicago Cubs. She is survived by daughter, Cheryl (Blake) Bauer of Buchanan; son, Mike (Andrea) Neitch of South Wales, NY; 6 grandchildren, Sydney, Jordan and Hayden Bauer and Ariel, Alexa and Abigail Neitch; and sister, Mary Ellen (Ralph) Singleton of FL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Alexander, on February 26, 1990, and sister, Betty Hogan and her parents.
