Michael “Mike” A. Krone, 73, of Berrien Springs, went to his eternal rest on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1340 Sycamore St., Niles, MI 49120 with Pastor Joseph Liss officiating. A light luncheon will be served after the service and internment will follow at 2 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan in the chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 AM- 11 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Niles, MI. Those wishing to send condolences or sign the guest book online may do so at www.swemchapel.com Mike was born on December 30, 1943 in Buchanan, MI. to Arthur F. and Evelyn R. (Burgoyne) Krone. He resided on the family farm in Berrien Springs for many years where he enjoyed raising pumpkins and cutting wood. Mike enjoyed his daily drive to Stevensville to pick up newspapers and lottery tickets. Mike graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1963. He was retired after 32 years of service from the Berrien County Road Commission, Buchanan barn. Mike enjoyed watching sports on television, especially basketball and baseball, and was an avid Chicago White Sox and Michigan State fan. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Niles, MI. where he served as an usher for several years. He is survived by sisters; Karen (Robert) Koebel, Marcina Hoge and Cynthia Krone; brother, Christopher (Patricia Carson) Krone; nieces, Rebecca (James) Stephenson and Elizabeth Koebel; nephews, Paul (Shelly) Hoge and Mark Hoge; four great-nieces and five great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, William Hoge.
