Christopher Cody Herman, 21, of Galien, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 12 PM – 3 PM on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Galien American Legion, 402 N. Main St., Galien, MI. Interment will take place at 10 AM on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Galien Cemetery, Galien, MI. Those wishing to send condolences or sign the guest book online may do so at www.swemchapel.com. Chris was born on June 8, 1996 to Jack and Patty (Rudlaff) Herman. He graduated from Cedar Lane in Niles. After graduation, Chris went to work for Krumrie Sawmill Services, where owner David Krumrie and his wife, Jazmine treated him like family, thank you. His home away from home was Jean Plew’s house where he would visit and help around the house. Chris enjoyed camping, fishing and most of all, being with his family and friends. He was a soft spoken person who wasn’t afraid to lend a helping hand wherever needed. Through his selflessness, Chris made the decision to be an organ donor. He knew many people and he called them all friends. Chris will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Chris is survived by his parents, Jack and Patty; sister, Angela Stamps, paternal grandparents, Jack and Marge Herman; uncle, Ben Rudlaff; nieces, Lela and Candace; nephew, Joshua and many other uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louie and Beverly Rudlaff and brother, Micheal James Priebe.
