Marie L. Zelmer, 88, of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Buchanan Meadows. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, July 10, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora with Rev. Jonathan Liebich officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Sunday, July 9, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. On November 30, 1946 she married Emiel Zelmer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glendora. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2012. Marie was a lifetime member at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora. Marie is survived by two sons, Dick Zelmer of Walterboro, South Carolina and Donald (Kay) Zelmer of Niles, Michigan; grandchildren Marlene (Brian), Bryon, David (Amy), Angie (Corey), Aaron and Daron (Lori); ten great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson and caretaker, Brenda Ruth. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy, John and Robert.
