Duane's Obituary

Duane “Teddy” Lick, 82, of Buchanan, MI passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at his home. A Celebration of life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 212 W. Front St., Buchanan with Pastor Daniel Barz officiating. Burial will follow at Glendora Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Church. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Buchanan. Those wishing to share a memory of Duane online may do so at www.swemchapel.com Duane was born April 17, 1935 in Benton Harbor, MI to Reinhold “Ryan”&Emma (Schmidt) Lick. He served his country in the United States Army from 1958 until 1960 in the 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles”. On September 19, 1970 he married Vivian Huston in Buchanan, MI. Duane worked for Auto Specialties in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor Screw as a machine operator for many years. Duane was a sand rabbit growing up in St. Joseph, MI and worked at the Silver Beach amusement park. In his spare time he loved hunting and fishing. Duane is survived by his wife Vivian Lick; daughters Angela (Amy Davis)Lick and Alyson (David) Olmstead; grandchildren Amanda (Kent) Wetkowski and Anna (Tim) Bristle; great grandchildren Evan and Tyler Wetkowski and Skylar and Karly Bristle; sisters Elaine Walker, Beverly (Tom) Garcia, and Judy (Ken) Lausman; brother Harold Lick; brother-in-laws Don Hatfield and George Parker; and many nieces and nephews. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, son Robin Nelson, sisters Delores Drakopulos, Caroline Hatfield, Diane Parker, Betty Ann Lick, Vivian Smith and Virginia Varney.
