Delia L. Huebner-Shafer

Dee was born on 7/14/1933, to the late Neil & Frances Canfield and lived in the Buchanan area most of her life. She was a member of the class of 1952 of Buchanan High School. Also in 1952, she married the late Lyle J. Huebner. Lyle and Dee raised 5 children, Gerri Handley, Leonard Huebner, Pam (Randy) Hushower, Ronda (William) Lyden and Valerie (Dan) Stacey. Dee was an expert seamstress. She canned and preserved every fruit and vegetables available. Dee cooked and entertained family and friends with joy. Her family fondly remembers all the years of having a cabin at Round Lake, of the many years of clearing land and building with Grandma and Grandpa Canfield, of memorable summers spent with the Aunt Doris and Uncle Allen Canfield, and the Blake, Tropp, Davis, and Letcher families. We will always remember our great times with friends on Lake Street, the Ketch and Hickock families. Dee was an avid card player and found like-minded friends at Missions East. In addition to her 5 children, Dee adorned 11 grand-children and 7 great-grandchildren. Dee married Victor Shafer in 2005, who preceded her in death in 2010. Vic and Dee enjoyed traveling and spent many winter in Florida. In addition to her parents and husbands, Dee was preceded in death by her brothers, Neil and Allen Canfield, son-in-law David Handley and daughter Linda Sue. A private service will be held.
