Pat's Obituary

Pat Hemminger of 1755 Bakertown Road, Buchanan, MI went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 9, 2017 at the age of 93. She was born Patricia Ruth Dellinger on July 11, 1924 to Henry and Mona (Wells) Dellinger in Buchanan. She married her husband of 74 years James William on July 11, 1942 in Buchanan. Pat graduated from Buchanan High School in 1941, and from the South Bend College of Commerce in 1942. She worked at Clark Equipment and Electro-Voice in Buchanan. She served on the Buckteens committee for many years, leading attendees in singing ‘God Bless America’ among other songs. Pat was also active in the Rural School Reunion organization as she attended Bakertown School as a child before attending Buchanan High. Pat attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, and later Faith Victory Fellowship Church in Buchanan as an expression of her love for and faith in God. Isaiah 61:1-3 was very special to her. Pat took great pride in her five children: Ann, Mike, David, Becky, and Cathy. All were graduates of Galien High School. She served on the Galien School Board and was very active in her children’s school and extracurricular activities. Pat served as Cub Scout Den Mother, Home Room parent, and she attended and cheered at many Galien sports and band events. She and her husband Jim rarely missed watching Notre Dame football games. She was preceded in death by her husband James, her brothers Richard and Lawrence of Buchanan, her sister Martha Baughman of Buchanan, her daughter Annabella Endicott of Park Forest, IL, and her sons James Michael of Crown Point, IN and David Patrick of Michigan City, IN. She is survived by her sister Fern Baldwin of Niles, her daughters Rebecca (Bryan) Wilkie of Fort Collins, CO and Catherine (Thomas) Franke of Plymouth, MN, her grandchildren Matthew (Janet) Endicott of Columbus, IN, Holly Hemminger of Cedar Lake, IN, James W II (Jennifer) of Crown Point, IN, and Bruce (Debbie) Hemminger of Calumet City, IL, Mary (Tim) van Laarhoven of Highlands Ranch, CO and Maggie Franke of Plymouth MN, and four great-grandchildren Brianna, Alyssa, James Zachary and Hannah Hemminger of Crown Point, IN. A private interment service will be held at the Galien Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Faith Victory Fellowship, 13369 Main Street, Buchanan, MI 49107.
