Martha May, 86, of Buchanan, MI passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Brentwood in Niles, MI. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., in Buchanan with Pastor Randy Pearman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, August 13, 2018 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Buchanan Township Fire Department or Bethel Baptist Church. Friends wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at www.swemchapel.com Martha was born May 30, 1932 in New Troy, MI to Dan & Martha (Granke) Miller. She graduated from Buchanan High School in 1950. On September 16, 1950 she married James May in Buchanan, MI. Martha worked as a Deputy Clerk for Buchanan Township for many years. She was a phenomenal cook and enjoyed cooking for others. Martha also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Martha is survived by her daughters Marcia (David) Crockett, Kim (Bruce) Klug and Lisa May; son Steve (Carla) May; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
