F.'s Obituary

F. Harold Forburger, 83, of Buchanan, MI passed away at Hanson House Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan Saturday, October 27. He was born in Buchanan, Michigan December 8, 1934 to the late Francis and Elizabeth (Kollenberg) Forburger.  Harold attended school in Buchanan and was a member of the Buchanan High School graduating class of 1953. He was blessed by many lifelong friends in the Buchanan community. Harold spent his next four years at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan and was a member of the ROTC and Sigma Rho Fraternity there.  He graduated in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. After college, Harold served as a Lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers construction battalion in Fort Knox, Kentucky. In May of 1959, Harold married his high school sweetheart, Jo Ann Rotzien.  They resided in Buchanan, and had three children; Susan (Robert) Coquillard of Eloy, AZ, James (Margaret) Forburger of Buchanan, and Amy (Dana) Lilly of Indianapolis, IN. In 1983, Harold and Jo Ann moved to Columbus, IN where Harold continued his career in engineering with Reliance Electric (Rockwell International).  After retiring in 1998, Harold and Jo moved back to Buchanan and spent time traveling, enjoying their grandchildren, and living life on the family farm land. Harold is survived by Jo Ann, his wife of 59 years, his three children, seven grandchildren; Cory (Holly) Coquillard, Eliza Coquillard, Nellie Coquillard, Aaron Forburger, Allexia (Matt) Money, Jordan Lilly, and Tanner Lilly, and four great-grandchildren; Colton and Henry Coquillard, Francine Forburger, and William Money. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Thursday, November 1st with a Celebration of Life service at 11:00am Friday, November 2nd, both at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front Street, Buchanan, Michigan. Burial will follow at Howe Cemetery in Bertrand Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or to Caring Circle Hospice.
