He graduated from Lake Michigan Catholic High School in 1974, and went on to graduate from Western Michigan University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He married his high school sweetheart, Beth, on August 11, 1979. Employed right out of college by Whirlpool Federal Credit Union, Dave went on to be named its President and Chief Executive Officer. He served and led it through its name-change to First Resource Federal Credit Union as well as its recent merger and name-change to United Federal Credit Union. Dave’s career with the Credit Union lasted 28 years and he deeply loved his co-workers and every minute of his work there. Dave’s life demonstrated his vast love for his wife and four children. He treasured time with his family, including traveling on family vacations, playing basketball with his son, cheering for his daughters at their volleyball games, listening to good music, star-gazing with his wife and children, and fishing. When he wasn’t with his family, Dave was telling others about them. Dave’s faith in Jesus Christ influenced every facet of his life. Among his family and friends, he is known as a man who reflected Christ’s character – in faithfulness, generosity, wisdom, integrity and love. (John 17:3, The Holy Bible).
