Darren's Obituary
Darren (“Big D”) L. Johnson, 49 of Dowagiac died Saturday, July 18, at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 23, 2015 for family and friends at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center Street, Dowagiac with Scott Labbe of Hospice, officiating. In accordance with Darren’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Clark Chapel to help with funeral expenses. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the Dowagiac Moose Lodge on M-51 N., Dowagiac. Those wishing to leave a memory or condolence of Darren online may do so at www.clarkch.com.
Darren was born March 21, 1966 in Dowagiac to Roy Joe and Glenna Marie (Merrill) Johnson. He married Roxanne Clark on August 25, 1984 in Dowagiac. Darren was a truck driver and worked in the construction business for many years. Darren enjoyed the outdoors, including camping, hunting and fishing. His family and friends were very important to him, including his six grandchildren which he loved dearly. His wife, Roxanne, would like to extend an invitation to all friends and family to come help celebrate Darren’s life, both at the service and the luncheon that follows.
Darren is survived by his wife Roxanne of 31 years, and by four children; Amanda Johnson, Tobias Johnson and Kylie (Brandon) Taylor all of Elkhart, Indiana and Caleb Johnson of Dowagiac. He also leaves behind six grandsons and one granddaughter expected in October. Darren is also survived by a sister, Missey Johnson of Dowagiac and a brother, Steve (Julie) Johnson of Dowagiac. He is preceded in death by his parents.
