Mary's Obituary

Mary L. Robison, 58, of Dowagiac, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Saturday, August 1, 2015. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, August 5th from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Creekside Church, 108 Cass Avenue in Dowagiac. A Homegoing Service will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Jamie Saylor officiating.  Mary will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac following the service.  A Repast at the church will follow the committal service. Her parents were Clarence Robison and Millie Ross.  Mary loved to cook for her family. She also often prepared delicious food at the beginning of each month for the community dinners at Chestnut Towers in Dowagiac. Mary loved to fish and spend time with friends. Her favorite game was Pac Man.  She was a very loving, caregiving person who always thought of others before herself. She raised four children and taught them all the values of respect and kindness. Her philosophy of raising children was, “spare the rod… spoil the child”. Mary is survived by her four children; Terry (Sandy) Robison of Vandalia, Vernell (Luonna) Robison of Dowagiac, Wanda Robison of Dowagiac and Channell Robison of Niles. She also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Clarence Robison, Jr. of Cassopolis and a sister, Myrtle Berry of Cassopolis. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Fred and Sam Robison.
