Donnie Heffington

Donnie D. Heffington, 62, of Dowagiac, passed away at The Timbers of Cass County, in Dowagiac, Michigan on Monday September 7, 2015. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center Street, Dowagiac, MI.  There will be a private burial at South Wayne Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to Clark Chapel for his funeral expenses.  Those wishing to leave a memory or condolence of Donnie online may do so at www.clarkch.com. Donnie was born May 30, 1953 in Sikeston, Missouri to Cubie and Thelma (Finney) Heffington. Donnie worked for several years at the Van Buren County Courthouse in Paw Paw, MI.  He married the love of his life, the former Sally E. Queen, on April 8, 1972.  Donnie loved his family and was very proud of them all.  He made sure they all knew how important they were to him.  Donnie is survived by his two children; Jacky McNeil of Dowagiac and Randy (Jessica) Heffington of Dowagiac, six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, two brothers; Gene Heffington of Dowagiac and Tommy Jo Heffington of Benton, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sally, two children; lil’ Donny and baby Andy, five brothers; JR, Bobby, Leroy, Alvin “Peewee” and Gary “Buddy” and two sisters; Lois Doberstein and Kathryn Rogers-Heffington.
