Douglas O. Fry, 75, of Cassopolis, MI passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center Street, Dowagiac, MI with Pastor Kel Penney of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, December 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, December 17th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with Service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Historical Society, c/o 56501 Glenwood Rd., Cassopolis, MI 49031. Those wishing to share a memory of Doug online may do so at www.clarkch.com Doug was born on December 4, 1940 in Niles, MI to Leroy D. and Irene (Tuttle) Fry. He attended Niles High School and graduated in 1959. He married Marilyn (Fox) Fry on March 19, 1977 in Dowagiac, MI. Doug was an insurance agent for National Life Insurance Company and later for American General for 35 years and served many families in the Dowagiac and surrounding area. He loved hunting and fishing and was quite the outdoorsman. Doug was an active member of the Cass County Historical Society and helped with the Newton House project for many years. He conducted many tours of the property there, especially in the fall. He was a member of the Cass County Historical Commission and the Dowagiac Area History Museum. Doug also worked as a Care Team member and Funeral Associate for Clark Chapel & Cremation Services since 2006 until last year when he left to spend time with his wife, Marilyn and family. Doug is survived by his wife Marilyn, a son, Tracy (Lana) Fry of Cassopolis and daughter, Kimberly Robinson of Elsmere, KY. He also is survived by 3 step children; James (Peggy) Kimmey of Bristow, VA, Joseph (Julie) Kimmey of Frenchtown, MT and Thomas (Missy) Marshall of Decatur, MI. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Doug is also survived by a sister, Jeanette Weber of Colorado Springs, CO. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, a stepson Jeffrey Kimmey and a brother, Don Fry.
