Joyce E. Preis

Joyce E. (Snyder) Preis, 85, of Dowagiac, passed away, Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Cemetery in Niles.  Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to Dowagiac Conservation Club.  Those wishing to sign Joyce’s Memory Book online may do so at www.clarkch.com.  Joyce was born June 29, 1930 in Benton Harbor, MI to Garrett & Helen (Wolford) Snyder. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1946.  On January 10, 1948, she married Henry Preis in Benton Harbor. Joyce and Henry moved to Dowagiac shortly after their children were born. Joyce was a long time member and secretary of the Dowagiac Conservation Club. She loved reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her four sons, Henry (Sharon Hartzell) Preis, Jr. of Marcellus, Joseph (Laurene) Preis of Marcellus, Stephan (Cherry) Preis of Niles and Charles (Deborah) Preis of Dowagiac; one daughter Tina (Jack) Moseley of Chattanooga, TN; sixteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren; also surviving is one brother and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry on August 10, 1990; a granddaughter, Jenni Rice and two brothers.
