Catherine E. Brenneman, 94, of Dowagiac, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 6:30 P.M., at North Wayne Mennonite Church, 27285 Corwin St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Gary Miller officiating. Burial will be held at 3:00 on Friday at Hamilton Township Cemetery, 44708 CR 352, Decatur. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday June 30, 2016 from 3:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. at the church. Catherine was born to William H. & Amanda Miller on December 12, 1921 in Defiance, OH. She married Floyd Brenneman on February 15, 1942 in Middlebury, IN. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing on March 1, 2002. Her faith was a vital part of her life. In 1957 Catherine and Floyd were instrumental in helping establish the North Wayne Mennonite Church. Catherine’s family was very important to her, she enjoyed every moment she could with them.
Catherine leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Bob (Rachel) Brenneman of Goshen, IN and Shirley (Calvin) Bontrager of Dowagiac; eight grandchildren, Conrad (Deb) Brenneman, Steve (Victoria) Brenneman, Robert II (Gabriela) Brenneman, Ryan (Michelle) Brenneman, Eric (Sheryl) Bontrager, Lori Bontrager, Rita (Rory) Phillips and Krista (Lyndon) Bontrager; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roman, Sam, Albert and Bill Miller; sisters, Lydia Bontrager, Marian Lichti, Alma Miller, Sovina Schrock, Wilma Yoder and Irma Yoder.
