James Dowd

James Fullerton Dowd, 78, of Dowagiac, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, at his home.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Second Presbyterian Church, 4501 Westminster Pl., St. Louis, MO. Dowd in Massillon, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers David D. Dowd and John “Jack” C. Dowd.  He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” A. Dowd, who he married on June 18, 1960, and his children, Deborah (and Jeff) Clinebell, Kenneth (and Jennifer) Dowd, and Matthew (and Amy) Dowd, and his grandchildren, Chase and Alexis Clinebell, Samuel, Jack, and Kyle Dowd, and Benjamin and Michael Dowd.  Jim graduated from Cornell University in 1960 and from Yale Divinity School in 1963. He served as a Presbyterian pastor for forty years in a number of congregations, including Condit Presbyterian in Sunbury, Ohio, Boulevard Presbyterian in Grandview, Ohio, First Presbyterian in Urbana, Illinois, and Covenant Presbyterian in Cleveland, Ohio.
