Jaylen's Obituary

Jaylen Charles Weller, 22, of Dowagiac, along with the love of his life, Kylie P. Benkert, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St, Dowagiac. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clark Chapel to assist the family in paying for funeral expenses and a headstone.  Those wishing to sign Jaylen’s Memory Book online may do so at www.clarkch.com.  Jaylen was born on June 12, 1994 in Niles, MI, to Charles Weller & Virginia (Edge) Hughes. He graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 2013. Jaylen was a hard worker, often working 7 days a week.  He was a self-taught guitar player that would constantly find himself lost in the music. Jaylen was a kind person who had a multitude of friends.  Jaylen is survived by his parents, Charles Weller of St. Joseph & Virginia (Guy) Hughes of Kalamazoo; siblings, Adin, Damien, & Cellie; grandparents, Carol (Bruce) Collett of Dowagiac & Jessie (Brenda Moore) Edge of Covert; uncles, Randy (Peggie) Smith, Sam Edge & Tommy Edge; aunt, Jessica (Bobby) Linn; and numerous cousins.  Jaylen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Candy “Memaw” & Gilbert Weller.
