Betty E. Diezi, 95, of Dowagiac, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at her home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St, Dowagiac with Pastor Stacy Wilder officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 A.M until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Cass County Council on Aging. Betty was born December 15, 1921 in Cleveland, OH to Fred and Ida (Holmstrom) Pearson. On August 10, 1941 she married Donald Diezi in Monteno, IL. They moved from Chicago to Dowagiac in 1945. Betty had an amazing talent and love for dancing. In her younger years she performed professionally with her sister Virginia, as a chorus girl and acrobat. Betty spent many years raising a variety of animals on their Yaw St. farm, she enjoyed taking care of her family and being a stay at home mom. In their early retirement years she and Donald spent winters in Florida, enjoying fun times with friends, golfing and fishing.
Betty’s greatest joy was her family, daughter, Donna (Frank) Pisarsky of Berrien Springs, MI; granddaughters, Jamie (Jason) Spenner of Berrien Springs, Jodie Walker of Three Rivers and Julie (Kevin) Mack of Jones; five great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her sister Virginia Palmquist and her grandson Joseph Robinson.
